Safety

Soniador Equestrian Centre takes every precaution possible to ensure the safety of horses in our care, riders and guests. This includes:

• property maintenance (pastures and turn-outs etc.);
• barn maintenance (safe electrical services, isles free of clutter, etc.)
• Safe practices for all participants including
  • All riders under 18 and all riders jumping wearing an approved equestrian helmet.
  • All riders wearing hard soled footwear with a heal of no less than 1.5 centimeters.
  • Ensuring before you mount that someone is aware that you are riding.
  • Checking for properly fitted tack before mounting your horse.

We are accredited members of the Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF) and we encourage you to visit their website at http://www.horse.on.ca/.  They have important questions you should ask when looking for a facility for the care of your horses as well as to train and ride out of.   We carry general liability insurance and our Centre Instructors are qualified, have current first aid training, and carry coach/instructors Insurance.
